Tour Award Winning Gardens with Ulster County Master Gardeners

How about a leisurely summer afternoon stroll through a beautiful award winning Xeriscape Garden? Take in the sights of a spectacularly lush and colorful garden that features flourishing perennial herbs, robust shrubs and captivating flowers.

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s Master Gardeners at the Jacob A. Hasbrouck Building on the SUNY Ulster Campus in Stone Ridge on Sunday, August 22 at 2:30pm for a guided tour.

Master Gardeners will explain the principles of drought resistant garden design and planting techniques which help to create this incredible gardening spectacle.

Tea and a guided tour of Victoria Gardens in Rosendale will immediately follow the Xeriscape tour. The cost of the tour, talk and tea is $15 per person. All participants will receive a comprehensive list of water-wise plants to help them start their very own Xeriscape Garden. Space is limited and pre-registration is required by Wednesday, August 19. A rain date is set for Sunday, August 23.

The Xeriscape Garden is an interactive teaching tool in the selection of heat tolerant, water-wise plants, integrated pest management and alternative landscaping techniques.
